List of Hardware compatible with the CoralReef suite
- FDDImon
FDDImon access is implemented as a patch via tcpdump. This allows libpcap (a library for abstracting packet capture from tcpdump) to output coral format tracefiles. This could also be accomplished using libcoral's ability to read tcpdump format output. (libcoral is our library for abstracting cell capture, also has some limited packet capability/awareness. eventually will have some compatibility with libpcap.)
- OC3mon
OC3mon consists of 1 or more Fore Systems pca200 OC3 atm interfaces, and a pc running FreeBSD with an OC3mon driver. Current OC3mon hardware specs are here. Development of DOS-based OC3mon is documented on MCI Worldcom's OC3MON/Coral and Flow Data Information page.
- OC12mon - Applied Telecom (currently under development)
OC12mon consists of 1 or more OC12 capture cards from Applied Telecom, and like OC3mon, a PC running FreeBSD with an OC12mon driver. Information related to DOS-based OC12mon is documented on MCI Worldcom's OC3MON/Coral and Flow Data Information page.
- OC12 dag card - waikato.nz (currently under development)
The OC12 dag consists of 1 or more OC12 capture cards from Ian Graham at the University of Waikato in New Zealand, a PC running LINUX or FreeBSD with an OC12mon driver.
- OC48mon (currently under development)
A huge conglomeration of PCs and custom networking hardware that will be able to listen to at least parts of an OC48 link. see CAIDA's NGI proposal to DARPA.
- OC192mon (planned)
Planning for "4th generation" OC192mon systems is underway. Such systems will most likely incorporate scalable architectures and distributed processing. See CAIDA's NGI proposal to DARPA.
- LIGHTmon (planned)
The LIGHTmon system is a optical monitoring system intended to provide approximate data on a channel's utilization. see CAIDA's NGI proposal to DARPA.
- DS3 dag card (currently under development) The DS3 dag card is another product of the WAND group at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. This card does DS3 capture.
